Digidem Lab leads national citizen assembly about climate.
On 9-10 March, Sweden's first national citizens' assembly on the climate will convene.
60 randomly chosen individuals from accross the country will during the spring tackle the questions “How should Sweden lower emissions according to the Paris agreement?” The assembly memebers will meet several times during the spring to listen to -and obtain knowledge from experts, to discuss, and to produce recommendations which will, in May, be handed over to the climate policy spokespersons of the parliamentary parties’ spokespeople for climate politics. The project is a part of the research project Fairtrans, which is a collaboration between Stockholms University, Högskolan i Gävle, Uppsala University, Lunds University, and IVL Environmental Institute.
Digidem Lab, who has previously organised the citizen assembly for The Swedish Food Agency, and worked for the European Commissions European citizen assembly, has designed the process and is facilitating the meetings – meaning we will lead and support – the citizen assembly meetings.
