Norra Fäladen’s climate ideas become recommendations
Norra Fäladen climate dialogue resulted in nine recommendations submitted to City of Lund.
During the first weekend of December, participants in the Norra Fäladen climate dialogue submitted nine recommendations to the Environmental and Public Health Committee of the Lund Municipal Executive Board, in response to the question:
What is needed for residents of Norra Fäladen to reduce their climate emissions while still living a good life?
Around twenty representative residents, selected through randomised lottery, from Norra Fäladen met on four occasions to explore the issue, listen to testimonies from people affected by climate change, and engage with researchers and experts from, among others, Lund University and the Stockholm Environment Institute. The participants discussed underlying causes, barriers, and opportunities, generated proposed solutions, and developed recommendations for the municipality with the support of professional process design and facilitation by David Ershammar, Karolina Lundahl, and Julia Norman.
Efficient, concrete, and surprisingly effective process! – participant in the climate dialogue.
In this process, Digidem Lab further developed and adapted the citizens’ assembly model for a smaller-scale, neighborhood-level application, together with our facilitators Karolina and David from the Change Academy, and our project partners from City of Lund, Lund University, and the Stockholm Environment Institute. The process focused on creating interactive and accessible learning, drawing on data and insights from SEI’s Consumption Compass tool as well as subject-matter expertise from Katarina Axelsson.
Many thanks to all participants for your dedication and engagement!
