Decidim is a flexible and user-friendly platform for bringing all your citizen participation into one place.

Decidim is a digital platform for participation used worldwide by cities, associations, governments, and the European Commission.

Platform features can be combined to create a variety of participation types, such as participatory budgets, local assemblies, citizen proposals, and dialogue processes.

The platform is open source, so improvements developed by larger cities like Barcelona and Helsinki are also available to smaller cities.

Digidem Lab is the official partner for Decidim and develops and supports digital participation in combination with process design and facilitation.

Decidim is a platform created to increase access to information and dialogue. Giving sovereignty over technology to citizens means making them co-creators and owners of public services, which for us is the definition of a Smart City.

Create participatory budgets for cities, neighborhoods, housing companies, or schools. Set up and customize steps for submitting proposals and voting. Administrators can easily manage proposals, provide feedback, and assign pricing. Document the implementation of winning proposals on the platform for further transparency.
Create forums for citizen participation through councils based on themes or geographical areas. Gather meeting documentation, manage registrations, and document proposals from the councils.
Allow citizens to submit proposals and collect votes up to a predetermined limit. Manage who can submit proposals and who can vote through Decidim's access settings.
Collect feedback and comments on proposals and processes, or organize an open vote between a set of options. If necessary, proposals can be marked on a map or categorized by themes. Combine with built-in newsletter and open meeting functions to reach out with the process. Use follow-up features to report the implementation of projects.

Installation and customization

We install the Decidim platform as a cloud service or on your servers and make the necessary settings for the current process. We add your logo and customize colors and fonts according to your graphic profile.

Training and documentation

The person or persons who will manage the platform will receive a review of the different features in Decidim and practical training in continuously handling your process.

You will also receive a written manual tailored to your specific installation of the platform.

Operations and support

We handle ongoing operations and technical maintenance of the platform during the period specified in the agreement. You will also have access to two hours of support per calendar month.

Principles for Decidim

Those who use Decidim commit to a social contract, which includes equal and inclusive participation and transparent processes. Decidim uses open-source code, which means you don't pay licensing fees for using the code. It also means you benefit from the development and improvement of the platform by other cities.

Personal Data

We handle personal data according to GDPR and your guidelines and sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with you for the project. All our data handling is done on servers within the EU, and no data is shared with external third-party services.

Accessibility

We place great importance on accessibility for people with disabilities. Our version of Decidim has been tested according to both the legal requirements of WAD and the strict accessibility standard WCAG 2.2 AA.
