Consortium for EUs citizen assemblies
Digidem Lab is part of a consortium working to strengthen democracy in Europe.
Digidem Lab is part of an international consortium since 2026, working to strengthen democracy in Europe. Together with Nexus Institute, DemocracyX, Deliberativa, and Sortition Foundation, we collaborate to develop and implement deliberative processes at the European level.
About the consortium
The participating organisations contribute diverse perspectives and areas of expertise.
Nexus Institute has extensive experience in designing and facilitating complex participatory processes, combining research with practical implementation. DemocracyX develops research-based methods for systemic change, with a particular focus on including citizens as co-creators in the green transition. Deliberativa brings solid experience in implementing deliberative processes within political systems at multiple levels, while Sortition Foundation is internationally recognised for its leadership in democratic lotteries and selection processes for representative citizens’ assemblies. Digidem Lab contributes its expertise in designing inclusive processes, facilitation, and citizen engagement.
Together, the consortium creates a comprehensive approach where design, sortition, facilitation, analysis, and strategic development are closely integrated.
Purpose of the consortium
The purpose of the consortium is to collaborate in strengthening democracy in Europe. Together, we support deliberative processes taking place within the European Union. One of the key objectives is to work with the European Commission to design and implement its citizens’ assemblies.
