Young Health 2040
Digidem Lab and Generation Pep launch partnership to promote young people’s health and democratic participation
Digidem Lab has launched a new partnership with the Generation Pep foundation as part of the project Young People’s Health 2040. The project aims to strengthen young people’s health, influence and democratic participation through citizens’ panels for young people aged 15 to 18.
During the project, young people in two municipalities will have the opportunity to discuss issues relating to health, the future and societal development with decision-makers and experts. The aim is both to build young people’s confidence in their ability to participate in democracy and to develop concrete policy proposals for the municipalities.
The project will also produce a documented model for how municipalities and organisations can support young people’s influence on public health issues over the long term.
Digidem Lab is responsible for process design, methodology development, facilitation and documentation within the project.
“We see a clear need to create more structures where young people are not only heard but have a real opportunity to influence issues affecting their health and future. Through this project, we want to demonstrate that young people’s perspectives are a resource for shaping society,” says Carolina Klüft, Executive Director of Generation Pep.
“Health and democracy are closely connected. When young people have the tools, knowledge and genuine influence they need, we strengthen both individual wellbeing and society’s democratic resilience. We are delighted to be working with Generation Pep on this project,” says Ali Tabrizi, Executive Director of Digidem Lab.
The project runs from 2026 to 2027, and its findings will be shared nationally with municipalities, civil society organisations and other stakeholders working on youth, health and participation.
