The Higher Vocational Education (YH) course Community Organising equips you with the tools to organise, mobilise, and strengthen collective action. It is designed for those with experience and a strong commitment to social change, whether you work in an organisation, large or small, or have been involved in movements over time.
The course creates space to collectively explore the current state of civil society in Sweden and how we can develop our methods and knowledge of organising. The focus is on creating long-term change through strategic work, broad alliances, the development of new leaders, and mutual support.
Through a combination of theory and practice, you will deepen your understanding of organising as a method for change. The course provides concrete tools, structures, and examples that you can apply directly in your own context. You will also learn from experienced organisers from across Europe, who share insights into successes, challenges, and lessons learned from building collective power.
The programme is flexible and designed to be combined with work, studies, or other commitments. You will have a high degree of flexibility in deciding when and where you study, and many course elements allow you to focus on issues and contexts that are relevant to you or that you are already engaged in.
Dates for the in-person sessions:
- 3–4 September 2026
- 15–16 October 2026
- 26–27 November 2026
The Community Organising course is organised by Digidem Lab and Nätverkstan in collaboration with international partners in the field of community organising. The course is funded by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education and the Västra Götaland Region.
